PLEASE NOTE: Unlike past tournaments on Cherokee Lake, this time we will be launching from the TVA Cherokee Dam Boat Launch located on Renfro Road in Jefferson City, TN.
Cherokee Lake, also referred to as Cherokee Reservoir, is a man-made body of water created by damming the Holston River with the Cherokee Dam. In recent years, Cherokee Lake has transformed into a highly sought-after recreational destination for tourists.
Cherokee Lake offers convenient public access points for boating, public parks, commercial boat docks, lakefront resorts, RV and tent campgrounds, and a state wildlife management area along its shores. These attractions draw a diverse crowd of outdoor enthusiasts, who engage in activities such as swimming, boating, camping, water sports, and fishing. Moreover, the lake is home to a sailing club, which hosts seasonal regattas.
What sets Cherokee Lake apart is its remarkable fish population, which surpasses that of most reservoirs managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Consequently, it has become a favored destination for anglers throughout East Tennessee.
